Born to be Wild 3D is extremely Heartwarming!!!

Last week I had the great opportunity to take my wife and one of my daughters to see Born To Be Wild 3D in IMAX. Never really being interested in seeing nature films, I thought well maybe I should check it out. The screening was at the California Science Center in Los Angeles, CA, on their HUGE IMAX screen. With this being our first nature film on a big IMAX screen or anywhere else, especially for my daughter, I knew we were in for a treat.

The film takes you into two different worlds (well different to us), the rainforests of Borneo with primatologist Dr. Birute Mary Galdikas and the Kenyan Savannah with elephant authority Dr. Dame Daphne M. Sheldrick. Both rescue, document and rehabilitate infant endangered species. Then send them back to the wild. Over in the rainforests of Borneo, primatologist Dr. Birute Mary Galdikas, rescues and documents orphaned orangutans, who lost their families from people cutting the rainforests and across the Kenyan Savannah, Dr. Dame Daphne M. Sheldrick takes care of orphaned elephants, whose mothers were killed by poachers. Born To Be Wild 3D was directed by David Lickley.

Seeing the film on the IMAX and in 3D was just amazing. My daughter at one point got a little scared because she thought that one of the orangutans was trying to get to her. There's a part in the movie when over at the Kenyan Savannah, Dr. Dame Daphne M. Sheldrick's team was playing ball with the elephants and one of the balls went towards the camera and everyone in the audience ducked. There are some parts of the film that are real touching. It brought a tear to my eye. You learn a great deal about these endangered species.

So I give this film a big elephant thumbs up!!! Go see this movie. I am now a big fan of nature films. Take the family. Oh and I want to own an orangutan and elephant. Forget it, I'm quitting my jobs and moving over there. Enjoy the movie!!!
