Paranormal Activity
Have things inexplicably happened in your home that you try to ignore just to avoid being scared out of your mind? Or have you ever turned out the light, pulled up the covers and lay there wide-eyed as you heard an unfamiliar sound in your home? Before I say more, let me first say that Paranormal Activity is not for the faint of heart.
Although the film takes place in a normal two-story home, the things that happen within the walls of the home are far from normal. With its documentary-style footage, Paranormal Activity captures moments on film that many people fear. Most of us imagine our homes to be the one place where we can find peace and solitude. But, what do we do when our home is the very place that haunts us?
I can honestly say that the film itself did not really scare me (although a couple of incidents sent chills down my spine). I was expecting to be incredibly frightened, especially with all of the hype around this thriller. Instead, I went home feeling fine, which is where the genius lies. For when I got home and lay in bed, I questioned every little sound I heard and wondered if I was seeing shadows or figures moving in the dark. The terrifying experience transitioned from the film to my bedroom, my dreams and even permeated my thoughts. It was as if I could not escape the fearful happenings that the young couple dealt with in the film. In fact, I can guarantee that after watching the film you will not only question what you hear and see, but you will also find it difficult to sleep through the night.
Hold on tightly to the ones you love and be prepared to really question whether you believe in Paranormal Activity or not…
