Sonic makes him triumphant return and we got the chance to take on the 4 acts of the first zone. Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is set shortly after its predecessor Sonic & Knuckles. Sonic once again defeats Doctor Eggman and his space station, the Death Egg. With the Death Egg destroyed and Angel Island returned to the sky with the Master Emerald, Sonic decides it’s time to take a break splitting from both Tails and Knuckles.
Sonic fans finally get what that has been so outspoken since the the last true release Sonic and Knuckles….an original style sonic game on a major console that is not a remake of any of the games, the final product Sonic 4.
Emerald Hill Zone was put in front of Chris and he accepted the challenge gracefully, the stages are beautifully done in 3D but don’t stare too long because the 2.5D Sonic will just shoot through the stages in his need for speed (old school sonic reference). So you may ask what makes this game so different from the originals that make me want to play Sonic 4? Well then why would people ask for a brand new Sonic game that is like the originals but either way Sonic brings over the homing attack to dash forward to take out opponents from the Sonic Adventure games as well as interact able environments that help Sonic advance the farther you go into the game.
Eggman also makes his act 4 return, and what nostalgia we had when he brought out the disco ball weapon, swinging back and forth…but now does a 360 forward roll attack. Overall it will be fun to see what else Eggman will be bringing to take on Sonic.
Sonic 4 releases late summer in Episode content on the Wii, PSN and XBLA. For the Wii the game will run at 480, while on the PSN and XBLA will run at full 1080. No price point has been announced nor how far apart new content will be released.
This is game all Sonic fans including myself will be anxiously waiting for.
