The next ps3 title from Tecmo. Ninja Gaiden 2 is an updated port of Ninja Gaiden 2 for the xbox 360. Team ninja really takes this game to a new level, showing off improved graphics of the Ps3, and not to mention this demo also included a brand new playable character exclusively for the PS3 Ayane.
For those of you who played the first Ninja Gaiden Sigma, the story takes place 1 year after the events with Ryu Hayabusa and Rachel. A CIA agent searches for Ryu andasks the blacksmith Muramasa, she is kidnapped before she can give him the message. Ryu is told about the CIA agent as he saves her, and he is warned that his village is under attack.
The Demo takes place at the beginninS of the Game, as Ryu makes his way as rogue ninjas attacking him, its your basic hack and slash, but with a nice twist you can slice off your opponents limbs and even execute them, to make the game not just gory but more realistic. When you slice off an opponents limb, such as their leg they crawl on the ground to grab you and try to self destruct to take you out, the combos are pretty much similar to how they were Ninja Gaiden Sigma as all the moves such as the swallow attacks, chi attacks and the infamous Inazuma drop was easily there at your disposal. The Ryu demo was pretty short, giving you just a taste of what Sigma 2 brings to the PS3, it was still sweet.
The second playable character was Ayane, famous from of the Dead or Alive/DOA Xtreme series once again appears, and for the first time she is a playable character. Ayane’s attacks
inflict less damage then Ryu, but she makes up for the with speed, technique and her arsenal of skills including her ki techniques and weapons style. Ayane’s demo was much shorter than Ryu but still much more challenging.
While the demos are both pretty short its shows all the redesigned work and added elements redone from Ninja Gaiden 2, and I look forward to seeing what the new Team Ninja will do with the full version.
