Bayonetta Demo

The creator (Hideki Kamiya) of the demon-whomping action series, “Devil May Cry”, has brought you his next action-packed masterpiece, “Bayonetta”. As your hero of the story is in fact a scantily-clad leather-bearing “Heroine” instead. You’re still going up against the usual wild demonic imaginations of Kamiya. The game was one of the many playable demos out on the E3 floor and was well worth waiting in line, as to what we would expect from Hideki Kamiya.

Right off the bat there’s nonstop action as our titillating heroine slices, dices, and blasts her enemies into smithereens. Horde after horde they’re obliterated by an onslaught of mixed weaponry with deadly skill and precision. With a heavy arsenal of close to mid-ranged weapons, Bayonetta is one bad girl. She’s got two pistols in hand and two more hooked to her heels. As well as a katana as her main source of dicery and can even pick up a fallen adversary’s weapon. Not only is Bayonetta decked out in loads of butt-whooping steel, she also has witch-like powers using her hair as form of spell casting. With this power she can summon enormous demons to her aid and even protect her self with a very finely fitted “battle suit”.

Like you would expect from Kamiya, Bayonetta can really move. Anywhere from using enemies as a surfboard, running on walls, scaling buildings without effort, flip after flip, Beyonetta is VERY agile in her almost “ballet-like” dance of death. Aside from her Olympic performance of agility, she’s also got a pair of lovely wings to help her safely glide from jump to jump. With these abilities you go through level after level, kicking a** and taking names! At the end of each level you’re graded upon your performance as to how well you toted your busting beauty through the merciless carnage. A neat feature as well, during loading screens the player can practice Bayonetta’s list of combos in a sort of training ground to get the gist of how you connect her almost endless skills.

As you fight your way through a ruined temple of sorts, you’re ambushed by demon after demon wanting to put you out of your misery. But Bayonetta’s too good for these lowly lackeys, so at the end of this trail of demon carcasses is a huge stone “golem-esque” boss waiting to pound your face in. As the epic battle plays out, Bayonetta then finishes her foe off style reminiscent of Kratos from “God of War”. Finishing the boss off for good is quite entertaining as well, by summoning one Bayonetta’s “hair” demons to quickly consume and devour the boss in a “dinosaur-like” fashion.

All in all, if you’re looking for a fast-paced, action-packed, thrill ride of butt-whoopery; than you’ll want to pick this title up for sure once it’s released later this year.
