Since the beginning of time the human race has predicted and attempted to calculate when our last days on Earth would be. The Mayans, an ancient civilization, lived their life on the basis of five calendars; each calendar ending catastrophically and the fifth calendar takes place in our generation. Will Earth experience serious disaster or will it be renewed and transformed?
These ideas were all expressed significantly on the red carpet for the premier of 2012, held at the Regal Cinemas, on November 3rd 2009. One end of the carpet was getting a lot of attention that portrayed a life-like car crash through a brick style wall. There were also white pillars which seemed to be crumbling near a crashing Hollywood sign. The Hollywood letters were broken, cracked and falling was rather enjoyable, as was the massive pyramid which stood tall nearby. For this movie the pyramid was an excellent addition to the scene because the Mayans were believed to have built pyramids to be astronomical observatories.
Many people from the press came to cover the event including Fox, ABC, About.com and others in various languages. Un-wired was able to speak with many of the starring actors/actresses as well as the Director/writer/executive Producer Ronald Emmerich and the three scientists who believe the predictions may be real. One scientist believes that in that year or around that time there may be a Flare that shoots out from the sun causing electricity blackouts around the world.
Un-wired had a chance to talk with Danny Clover playing “president Thomas Wilson” and John Cusack playing “Jackson Curtis,” in the movie and they both seemed to be really excited about the film. The twins Alexandre Haussmann and Philippe Haussmann enjoyed working with Ronald on the movie. Jason Biggs also stopped by to chat with Un-wired along with Woody Harrelson and guests.
