Zeno Clash Ultimate Edition is the new Xbox Live Arcade game brought to you by Atlus and ACE Team. Zeno Clash has an interesting mix of Fighting, FPS and action all rolled into one and uses the Valve engine famous for games such as Left 4 Dead and Half life.
Zeno Clash follows Ghat and his journey around a town called Halstedom, in the world of Zenozoik. As his story begins after setting off a bomb destroying a town and kills the ones known as Father-Mother, two “parental figures” who have taken care of many children. Ghat then must leave town as his brothers and sisters want to kill him, even hiring hunters.
We got to take a quick look at some gameplay of the game thanks to Atlus, showing of the gameplay and some of the extras added from the original pc version of the game. The whole game is story driven, and the timeline goes back and forth revealing how the story started and progresses as you play. The first thing we were shown was Ghet having to collect food for Deadra his companion, using his small gun he kills random creatures and after collecting the food and returning to Deadra, he is confronted by a hunter. Ghat then agrees to take on the hunter and what ensues is a tough battle that requires luck, skill and patience.
Zeno Clash Ultimate Edition added new content from the original Steam download game such as new grapple moves that can be done when close in to a stunned enemy, an on screen indicator, new weapons exclusive for the Ultimate Edition, and game tweaks. For 360 fans we were able to see there are 12 achievements for you to unlock, a new tower challenge mode that has both single and co-op play both offline split-screen and online with leader boards.
This game looks to be great for people playing it for the first time, or even those who previously played it on Steam with 19 playable chapters, either way you can look forward to some intense combat and action in Zeno Clash: Ultimate Edition when it drops March 31, 2010. Stay tuned for the full game review.
