Jordan Rudess premiers the US debut of Explorations for Keyboard and Orchestra
Towards the end of last month, Jordan Rudess (The keyboard wizard) known for his involvement in "Dream Theater" and a host of solo and side projects, performed his US debut of "Explorations for Keyboard and Orchestra". Debuting first in Venezuela with a full Orchestra, the piece that was written by JR and arranged by Turkish "Prodigy" Eren Basbug, was performed on just two keyboards. The night was filled with phenomenal musicality from musicians throughout the globe. Jordan performed not only with Eren, but with members of the RnL Project, and as a special treat had his good friend from Dream Theater "James LaBrie" come out and sing a few songs from his new solo record. It was a very intimate evening set in an old music hall in upstate NY, and if you didn't have a chance to make it out, I strongly encourage you to stay tuned to Jordan's website at http://www.jordanrudess.com as I believe there will be some form of video/dvd release at some point.
Before the show we sat down with the master himself to gain a little more insight on the night, as well as to talk about his new iPad App "Morphwiz" Feel free to click the video below and enjoy! Unfortunately we were'nt able to pry any details as to the identity of the new Dream Theater drummer, but he assured us that information will come when all is ready to be announced, so stay tuned!
