Trigun: Badlands Rumble AX 2010
Love and Peace!! Something you would of heard many anime fans saying over and over 12 yrs ago, a phrase used by the “Humanoid Typhoon” Vash the Stampede who himself is a living weapon who frowns upon the use of violence. Director Satoshi Nishimura knew how popular this series was and with studio Madhouse they decided to give the fans what they want a whole new story for Vash and the gang going back to when the series was more humorous and laid back before the show got more serious and darker when Vash’s past caught up to him.
Back in 2005 the movie was hinted at, and since then fans have been anticipating the movie, and Yasuhiro Nightow and Satoshi Nishimura were bombarded with questions on how the movie was proceeding and finally At anime expo 2009 a panel was held to talk about the movie, and a small trailer was shown to promote the movie…….April 2nd, 22 days before the Japanese theatrical release Sakura-con were the first to watch the movie, but the movie was not subbed or dubbed but Raw Japanese so many who couldn’t understand were treated to the movie anyway.
Anime Expo 2010 it was announced at the Funimation Panel that the movie would be licensed by them for a 2011 release date, but a special announcement was made that the movie would be shown at Anime expo 2010, but this time it would be subbed. The team behind the movie and Funimation team rushed to get the movie translated to give a great treat as hundreds of fans who heard of the announcement waited in line most of the day.
There wasn’t an open seat anywhere in the movie room, they had everything set up and began running the movie on a Playstation 3 for upscaling and the room echoed. The movie ran for roughly an hour and a half and when it started the moment Vash pops up the room roared, and about 20 mins in Wolfwood who’s popularity can be equal or even more to Vash made the fans in the room cheer even louder it was insane while trying to watch the movie, it’s hard to hold back yourself. The movie begins during as a bank robbery is happening; a gang of crooks are breaking passed security while the bank workers are grateful it isn’t Vash, but as trouble appears Vash steps in to save the crooks saving them all, but nothing ever goes his ways as everyone escapes but everything is destroyed. 20 years pass and the things Vash set in motion seem to have come back to haunt innocent people, Vash joins a bounty hunter crew where he meets a young pretty bounty hunter who thirsts only for vengeance, after tons of comical moments Vash runs into his old friends Meryl Stryfe and Milly Thompson who are on a job that doesn’t involve Vash.
The movie is done reminiscent of the original anime series but also drawn beautifully finally quenching fans thirst for more. In my opinion this movie was beyond awesome giving you everything you wanted, Vash vs Wolfwood, Vash teaming up with Wolfwood, comedy, awesome gunplay and tons of action. No fan should miss this out, and instead of spoiling anymore of the movie we will give an even more in depth review as the movie gets closer to its DVD/Blu Ray/US Theatrical Release, till then LOVE AND PEACE!!!
